Dawkins (1):
September 5th, 2007Recommendation:
Some people asked me about the photo with Richard Dawkins’ book [The God Delusion]. Some concluded that I hated him and wrote the Shajara Code as a reply to his book. To be honest I have to declare exactly the opposite: I respect and admire the guy because he is out spoken, sarcastic, yet polite, very brave to challenge the unchallengeable, and he says openly what too many are unable to say. While I disagree with his ideology and none scientific approach, obviously, I liked his brave stand.
My interest in [The God Delusion] is a by-product of my involvement in presenting Darwin’s Theory from completely different angle’s to Dawkins’!
Every author, no matter how great he/she might be, has a downfall. Dawkins is a great writer, amusing speaker but his downfall was when he attempted challenging the One who created him! ‘The God Delusion’ is too circumstantial and reflects serious deficiency in knowledge of indisputable history. Islam: ‘Mohammed and the Qur’an’, Christianity: ‘Jesus and the gospels’ and Judaism: ‘Moses and the Jewish Bible’ are no longer secret, that is held by high clergy men behind closed doors. Any unbiased researcher in the authenticity of the claimed divine books, and biography of their earthly founders, has too many reliable sources to obtain the most correct historical facts about them. Dawkins, in his trial to prove his improvable dogma, has chosen the most rejected misconceptions about these faiths, so that he claims winning the point. Although I have no intention to reply to his book in details, it was inevitable that I have my own remarks on it, which, I suppose would not offend Dawkins to hear. At the end of the day he took the bravest decision to deny God His existence, he must be prepared for a lot criticism to his work.
While I was reading the book ‘The God Delusion’, I scratched many sarcastic comments, provoked by his pleasantly sarcastic style; I thought to present some of them here, before reflecting on a few of his ‘missing links’:
The God Delusion did not insult my faith in God, but insulted my honour to Darwin!
He referred to Darwin and Darwin’s scientific work tenths of times, implying he is his main ‘witness’ who advocated atheism, but he was too shy to admit that Darwin himself ‘witnessed’ that he was never atheist! ‘Selective recognition’
The God Delusion successfully proved that ‘the gods’ which did not exist at any time, do not exist any more! ‘Selective Derecognising’
Dawkins was born to Christian parents, acknowledged the existence of the Christian ideology and society, and then claimed to have proved that ‘the creator of the universe’ as described in the Bible does not exist. However he only briefly mentioned the Hindu, Buddhist and Islamic ideologies, but offered no attempt to dispute their perception of God! He only concluded that, since the translated Bible contains errors, then ‘god’ could not exist any where else! ‘Selective blindness’!
The only Muslim ‘scholars’ or ‘philosophers’ Richard Dawkins could remember are Saddam Husain and Bin laden! Thanks to Dubia! ‘Selective negative recognition’
He ignored the Islamic civilisation that prevailed for over ten centuries, extending from Spain to the borders with China, but, to prove his point, he discussed extensively the lunatic anger over Mohamed’s cartoon in Denmark, and the Taliban ruling! ‘Selective blindness’
After finishing his book, which explained in a fascinating way how so many tiny organisms and concepts evolved to be what they are now, I wondered how his intellect evolved so selectively to recognise only the intellectuals in USA and UK of the whole world map! I am not suggesting he is racist at all, but puzzled by this very ‘unnatural selective evolution’!
If an intellectual scientist and scholar in the status of Richard Dawkins could not come up except with ‘The God Delusion’ to conclude the most authoritarian statement I have ever heard from a scientist in proving the negative: “there almost certainly is no God”, then no one can defeat God!
I strongly recommend his book for Muslims. It will certainly strengthen their faith in God because it proves the grass on the other side is very dry. My only concern is that, sceptical youth might turn extremists.
